Job summary

A manufacturing company in Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery. The role requires strong skills in reading electrical schematics, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs. Ideal candidates have at least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably with vocational training in mechanical or electrical trades. This position offers opportunities to work on various equipment and assist in training others.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related work experience in mechanical and/or electrical trades preferred.
• Completion of a recognized program in vocational training for mechanical or electrical trades preferred.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, PM, inventory, and maintenance on production machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Troubleshoot, repair and replace electrical systems to the component level.
• Understand and repair industrial electrical systems.
• Install, maintain and repairs equipment required to meet production needs.
• Install services and repairs electric motors, heaters, coolers, refrigerators, and other related equipment using various hand and power tools.
• Move and replace machinery and auxiliary equipment.
• Fabricate and assemble test parts as needed.
• Replace fuses, light bulbs and other electrical equipment following electrical specifications.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment.
• Ability and willingness to assist in training.
• Ability to safely and effectively work on plant facilities of various forms.

Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
• 4 or more years of related work experience in mechanical and / or electrical trades is preferred.
• Completion of a recognized program in vocational training for the mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
