County Materials Family of Companies is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician in Whitestown, IN. The role supports safe, efficient manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment to maximize uptime.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and welding systems, and collaborates with production, safety, and maintenance teams to meet goals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in plant or industrial maintenance within manufacturing.
• Hands-on with hydraulic, mechanical repair, welding, motors, conveyors and cranes.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to multitask in a team.
• Solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices and equipment operations.
• Electrical license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment during active operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Respond quickly to outages to minimize downtime.
• Maintain safety standards and documentation.
• Weld, fabricate and install machine components as needed.
• Read blueprints and work orders; interpret schematics.
• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, welders and torches safely.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for upgrades and maintenance.
• Keep work areas clean and safe per OSHA guidelines.

We’re hiring a Plant Maintenance Technician to join County Prestress in Whitestown

Job Summary:

The Plant Maintenance Technician supports safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations in a fast ‑ paced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime, minimal downtime, and optimal equipment performance.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands ‑ on industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding systems, and works effectively under pressure. This position partners closely with production, engineering, safety, and maintenance teams to meet production, quality, and workplace safety goals.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing and production equipment during active operations
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Respond quickly to emergency and unplanned equipment failures to reduce production downtime
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements
• Perform steel fabrication and welding for equipment repair, modification, and installation
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders
• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, welders, torches, and material-handling equipment safely and effectively
• Weld, fabricate, and install machine components as needed
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA and company standards
• Source parts and supplies, obtain vendor quotes, and install replacement components
• Coordinate and communicate with vendors and external contractors for equipment maintenance and installation projects

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in plant or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Strong hands ‑ on experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, welding, electric motors, conveyors, steel fabrication, and overhead cranes
• Demonstrated ability to work as a self ‑ motivated, proactive, and multi ‑ tasking team player
• Solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices and production equipment operations
• Electrical license preferred, but not required
• Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures
• Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards
• Work in a noisy environment
