Job summary

County Prestress in Whitestown is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to support safe, efficient manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and facility systems to maximize uptime and performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding systems and collaborates with production, engineering, safety, and maintenance teams to meet goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of plant or industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, welding, electric motors, conveyors, steel fabrication, and overhead cranes.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to multitask in a team.
• Electrical license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment during active operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Respond quickly to emergency equipment failures to reduce downtime.
• Maintain safety standards, procedures and documentation.
• Perform steel fabrication and welding for repairs and installations.
• Read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and work orders.
• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, welders, torches safely.
• Weld, fabricate, and install machine components as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas per OSHA and company standards.
• Source parts, obtain vendor quotes, and install replacement components.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance projects.

Job Summary

The Plant Maintenance Technician supports safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations in a fast paced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime, minimal downtime, and optimal equipment performance.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands on industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding systems, and works effectively under pressure. This position partners closely with production, engineering, safety, and maintenance teams to meet production, quality, and workplace safety goals.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing and production equipment during active operations


• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems


• Respond quickly to emergency and unplanned equipment failures to reduce production downtime


• Maintain compliance with safety standards, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements


• Perform steel fabrication and welding for equipment repair, modification, and installation


• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders


• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, welders, torches, and material-handling equipment safely and effectively


• Weld, fabricate, and install machine components as needed


• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA and company standards


• Source parts and supplies, obtain vendor quotes, and install replacement components


• Coordinate and communicate with vendors and external contractors for equipment maintenance and installation projects

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in plant or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment


• Strong hands on experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, welding, electric motors, conveyors, steel fabrication, and overhead cranes


• Demonstrated ability to work as a self motivated, proactive, and multi tasking team player


• Solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices and production equipment operations


• Electrical license preferred, but not required
