Job summary

Ferroglobe is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician at the Wallace mine site to keep crushers, conveyors, and plant equipment running safely and reliably. You will perform inspections, repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and support daily production.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in industrial maintenance. The role offers solid benefits and opportunities for hands-on problem solving at a mining operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of welding, cutting, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues and repair.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Weld, fabricate, install and test new machinery.
• Support plant shutdowns, overhauls and capital projects.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns as required.

What you’ll work on

As a Plant Maintenance Technician at our Wallace mine site, you’ll keep our crushers, conveyors and plant equipment running safely and reliably, minimizing downtime and supporting production every day.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulic systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues and carry out effective repairs
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and unplanned downtime
• Weld, fabricate and modify equipment and components; install, align and test new machinery
• Support plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls and capital improvement projects
• Respond to emergency breakdowns as required
• Keep work orders, maintenance records and inspection reports accurate, and work areas clean and safe
• Spot opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance

What you’ll bring

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, aggregate or heavy equipment setting
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

What to know before you apply

This is a hands-on role at a mine site. You’ll work around heavy equipment, dust and noise, in full PPE, and respond to breakdowns and emergency calls when needed.
