Job summary

Ferroglobe PLC in Wallace, SC is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to inspect, troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment in a mining/production environment.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, weld and fabricate components, and support capital projects while ensuring safety and reliability of plant operations. The role requires 2+ years of industrial maintenance and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in industrial settings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of welding, cutting, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulics.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues and carry out effective repairs.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
• Weld, fabricate and modify equipment; install, align and test new machinery.
• Support plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls and capital projects.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns as required.
• Keep work orders, maintenance records and inspection reports accurate; maintain safe work areas.
• Spot opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.

What You’ll Work On

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulic systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues and carry out effective repairs

What To Know Before You Apply

This is a hands‑on role at a mine site. You’ll work around heavy equipment, dust and noise, in full PPE, and respond to breakdowns and emergency calls when needed.
