Job summary

Ferroglobe, a global leader in metallurgical products, seeks a Plant Maintenance Technician at the Wallace mine site. You will keep crushers, conveyors and plant equipment running safely, minimizing downtime and supporting daily production.

The role requires a hands-on, safety-focused technician who can diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Schedule: First shift, with rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in industrial/mining/heavy equipment settings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment including crushers, conveyors, motors and pumps.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues and perform repairs.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Weld, fabricate and modify equipment; install, align and test new machinery.
• Support plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls and capital projects.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns as required.
• Maintain accurate work orders and inspection reports; keep areas safe and clean.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.

What you’ll work on

As a Plant Maintenance Technician at our Wallace mine site, you’ll keep our crushers, conveyors and plant equipment running safely and reliably, minimizing downtime and supporting production every day.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulic systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues and carry out effective repairs
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and unplanned downtime
• Weld, fabricate and modify equipment and components; install, align and test new machinery
• Support plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls and capital improvement projects
• Respond to emergency breakdowns as required
• Keep work orders, maintenance records and inspection reports accurate, and work areas clean and safe
• Spot opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, aggregate or heavy equipment setting
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of welding, cutting, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial electrical systems

What to know before you apply

This is a hands-on role at a mine site. You’ll work around heavy equipment, dust and noise, in full PPE, and respond to breakdowns and emergency calls when needed.
