Essential Requirements:
- Construct/assemble new sand and gravel and concrete plants, and provide maintenance and repair on all equipment in a timely manner.
- Perform all maintenance operations (welding, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, boilers, and air systems) in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations.
- Maintain equipment such as: feed systems, conveyor systems, scrubber systems, shaker systems, classifying systems, discharge hopper systems, weigh systems, cement storage systems, central mixer systems, load carrying systems, drive systems, water systems, air systems, electrical systems, crusher systems, hydraulic systems, recycling systems, structural systems, and other miscellaneous equipment.
- Periodically inspect equipment in accordance with the company's Prescribed Inspection Schedule and complete equipment inspection and reports.
- Evaluate workload (with guidance of Plant Maintenance Manager) and establish priority work schedules.
- Maintain a clean work area and assist in cleaning the shop and equipment.
- Ensure equipment is in safe operating order.
- CDL Class B license is a plus.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Possess a level of determination to successfully complete tasks, projects and career responsibilities.
- Take the initiative to start new tasks or projects or operate out of their area of influence.
- Promote and maintain a lean Work Environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Job Requirements:
The following requirements are essential to the performance of this job. Any change in these would fundamentally change the job.
- Must have a high school education or equivalent plus 1 to 2 years of welding/mechanical experience.
- Must be knowledgeable of many varied components of concrete and sand, and gravel plants.
- Electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, boiler, and air systems experience is desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to operate buttons, levers, and other controls located on various equipment.
- Must be able to frequently lift 100 pounds.
- Must be able to maneuver in and around equipment (bend, crawl, lift, climb, pull, stand) to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
- Must be able to work in outside weather conditions year-round.
- Must be able to work up to 65 hours a week and Saturdays when necessary.
