Job summary

Fabcon in Charlestown, Indiana, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and improve plant equipment for safe, efficient precast concrete production. This role supports reliability and continuous improvement.

You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on conveyors, mixers, cranes, and heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and document work in CMMS. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 2–5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Welding and fabrication with SMAW, GMAW, plasma torch, and oxy-acetylene.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, skid steers, aerial lifts, cranes, and similar heavy equipment.
• Basic computer skills; CMMS/IFS experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork and professional conduct; able to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, vehicles, and facility systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain and repair mixers, conveyors, augers, cranes, batching systems, molds, hydraulic systems, forklifts, yard tractors, aerial lifts, skid steers, and loaders.
• Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, equipment assembly and disassembly, and minor electrical repairs.
• Conduct routine inspections and respond promptly to production breakdowns.
• Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of equipment and plant infrastructure.
• Complete work orders and document maintenance activities and parts usage in CMMS/IFS.
• Follow lockout/tagout, hot-work, confined-space, environmental and safety procedures.
• Maintain safe, clean maintenance areas and support equipment reliability.
