Job summary

Amcor in Mundelein, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery and plant systems across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic domains. Candidates should have 5+ years in industrial maintenance and strong PLC experience (Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix/SLC‑500/PLC‑5), VFDs, servo systems, and 480 VAC power.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance technician experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with PLC systems (Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix, SLC‑500, PLC‑5).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Knowledge of safety and GMP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery and plant systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure safe operation of equipment and utilities.
• Respond to emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Install, modify, fabricate, and relocate machinery and facility systems using multi-craft maintenance skills.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Operate shop equipment and use hand, power, and diagnostic tools safely.
• Document work, requisition materials, and maintain maintenance records.
• Follow all environmental, safety, sanitation, and GMP requirements.
