Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform preventive and corrective maintenance at the plant. The role supports equipment installation, routine servicing, and repairs under supervision.

A strong background in welding, electrical, and mechanical tasks is essential. Key duties include following preventative maintenance schedules, assisting in projects, training Level 1 staff when needed, and maintaining a safe, clean work area in compliance with company rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in operating a forklift.
• Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanicals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation of new equipment.
• Support maintenance supervisor on fabrications and construction projects.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedule.
• Train Level 1 maintenance personnel if above level 1.
• Repair and install machinery, replace motors, rebuild gear boxes, weld piping, overhaul pumps, replace seals.
• Conduct daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment.
• Diagnose and replace equipment parts with minimal direction.
• Diagnose and repair control circuits and VFD installation.
• Maintain clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Observe safety rules and attend safety meetings.
• All other duties as assigned.
