Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking a senior maintenance supervisor at the Prairie Plant to direct a team of skilled workers, ensuring reliable operation and safety in all plant systems. You will coordinate maintenance, drive safety and environmental excellence, and collaborate with engineering and management on capex initiatives.

The role requires 8+ years in plant maintenance, strong supervisory abilities, and proficient communication across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, plus completion of an approved Instrument/Electrical course or equivalent field experience and 8+ years plant experience.
• Good working knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and safeguards for maintenance and construction of a compounding plant.
• Proven supervisory/administrative skills.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written is mandatory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows and knowledge of SAP (S/4).
• Must be able to communicate to all levels of local management and to other departments to explain problems and proposed solutions.
• Ability to impact and influence, and to persuade others to a particular course of action.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of a team of skilled workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds.
• Develop preventative maintenance program in conjunction with reliability engineering and maintenance staff.
• Writes AFE’s and supports Capex efforts annually.
• Participates in team meetings, strategic planning and PIP as a member of the senior management team at the Prairie facility.
• Review backlog of new Work Orders with maintenance supervisor & maintenance planner to confirm priorities for planning.
• Ensure storeroom is neat and orderly; oversee timecards, materials requisitions, work plans and schedules.
