Job summary

GPAC partners with a growing, family-owned pet food manufacturer in Central Illinois to hire a Maintenance Manager who will lead the maintenance department and drive equipment reliability. This hands-on leader will work closely with technicians, operations, and plant leadership to elevate performance.

The role focuses on developing preventive maintenance, managing CMMS work orders, and reducing downtime through data-driven improvements while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in maintenance management or industrial manufacturing.
• Hands-on leadership with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and CMMS programs.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• Food manufacturing or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and manage the maintenance team.
• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
• Manage CMMS work orders, scheduling, and asset tracking.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and conveyance systems.
• Oversee repairs and maintenance of plant equipment and facility systems.
• Analyze downtime and maintenance data to identify improvements.
• Partner with Operations to minimize equipment downtime.
• Support capital and plant improvement projects.
• Manage outside vendors and contractors.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet safety and food safety standards.
• Promote accountability, reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Provide hands-on support to technicians when needed.
