Job summary

Our Plant Maintenance Engineer Helper position will assist the MnDOT Metro District Golden Valley Plant Maintenance Engineer in performing skilled operation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, equipment and other mechanical systems. Assist the Plant Maintenance Engineer in performing building construction maintenance and repair, and grounds maintenance as required. Additionally, this position will assist the plumber and electrician as necessary so that services are provided in a safe and efficient manner.

NOTE TO APPLICANTS: The incumbent in this position is required to be immediately accessible to a phone and be able to report to work within one (1) hour of being called.

Here are the Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience operating and maintaining heating, plumbing, ventilation and electrical systems and auxiliary appliances.
• Skill in the use of hand tools of the trade sufficient to make adjustments and simple repairs to equipment and assist in the making of major repairs and alterations.
• Experience with building and grounds maintenance and construction practices.
• Valid Class D Driver's License.
