Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. seeks an experienced Instrument and Electrical Technician in Texas City to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, analytical and electrical equipment up to 13.8 KV.

The role requires reading electrical drawings, SAP/CMMS experience, and safe handling of tools. You will work with Operators, Mechanics, and engineering support on a plant-based team, participate in safety programs, and support commissioning of new plants while maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of industrial experience on instrumentation and electrical equipment required.
• Trade/technical degree or apprenticeship preferred but not required.
• Military training considered in lieu of experience.
• Safety-focused with strong communication and digital literacy.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Participate in department/plant safety programs and promote safety rules.
• Engage in team environment; mentor and coach team members as needed.
• Provide hands-on support to resolve Instrument/Electrical/Analytical field problems.
• Inspect, repair, install, troubleshoot and modify process controls, valves, safety devices, analyzers, PLCs and DCS instrumentation.
• Commissioning of new plants and ongoing troubleshooting, repair and calibration of instrumentation and electrical controls.
• Develop work scopes and document equipment in SAP for accurate records.
