Job summary

Arbor Masters is a family-owned tree service company expanding its team with a Plant Health Care Technician. You will communicate with customers, discuss PHC needs, and sell/apply necessary products.

This role blends field work with client interaction to ensure plant health and satisfaction. The PHC Tech will perform pesticide applications, identify plant issues, review labels, and follow safety procedures, while traveling between sites and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform pesticide applications including fungicides and insecticides.
• Ability to identify basic insects, diseases, and trees.
• Must review chemical labels and follow OSHA safety regulations.
• Must be 18+, have a valid driver's license; CDL preferred or willing to obtain.
• Industry experience or an related degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pesticide applications including fungicide and insecticide sprays and fertilizer applications.
• Identify basic insects, diseases, and trees.
• Review chemical labels and ensure safety compliance.
• Communicate with homeowners, review work and add-ons before starting.
• Inspect property for plant health concerns and submit notes; collect payment.
• Complete fertilization services per SOPs and safety standards.
• Operate equipment such as stump grinders and assist with stump removal as needed.
• Travel between job sites using maps and guides.

We are putting down new roots and expanding the family business. We are currently looking to add a Plant Health Care Technician (PHC Tech) to our team of experts. As a PHC Tech, you will have the unique opportunity to communicate with customers and discuss their PHC needs, as well as selling and applying the needed products.

As a PHC Tech, you would be responsible for:

• Performing pesticide applications, including but not limited to fungicide and insecticide sprays, and fertilizer applications
• Ability to identify basic insects, diseases, and trees
• Identifying and comprehending chemical labels
• Contacting homeowners upon arrival at the job site, reviewing work to be performed and noting any changes or add-ons before beginning work
• Completing a thorough inspection/evaluation of the entire property for plant health concerns before leaving job site and submitting notes to supervisor, and collecting payment
• Performing fertilization services in accordance with AMTL standard operating procedures, ANSI
• A300 standards, and OSHA safety regulations and utilizing safety PPE
• Completing a daily checklist for truck maintenance (including notification of routine maintenance or repair for shop mechanics)
• Operating equipment such as stump grinders and assisting with stump removal as needed
• Traveling from one job site to another, utilizing maps, street guides, and other directional resources

Requirements:

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude!
• Must have a valid class C driver's license
• Must hold a Class A CDL or be willing to acquire
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to follow directions and work independently
• Ability to complete labor-intensive outdoor work with exposure to a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain, stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and lift in excess of 501bs on a regular basis
• Possession of a Certified Pesticide Applicator License is preferred
• Industry experience or Associates Degree in related field is preferred
