Job summary

IES Infrastructure seeks a General Manager for its Manitowoc, WI facility, overseeing fabrication of large-scale generator enclosures and related heavy metal assemblies. You will lead production, safety, quality, supply chain, and engineering coordination to achieve profitability and on-time delivery.

You will drive operational excellence, develop customer relationships, mentor a high-performing team, and align with the company’s growth strategy in a fast-paced heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years of plant/operations leadership experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Experience managing P&L and driving operational performance.
• Experience implementing lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for plant operations including fabrication, welding, machining, finishing and final assembly of generator enclosures.
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Drive operational improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Implement and support lean manufacturing initiatives across the facility.
• Manage plant P&L, including budgeting, cost control and financial performance.
• Monitor KPIs including productivity, on-time delivery, scrap, labor efficiency and inventory levels.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins through operational efficiency and supply chain optimization.
• Support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop plant leadership including production, materials, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and develop succession plans for key positions.
• Promote collaboration across departments to support operational goals.
