Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Lakeland, FL seeks a General Manager to own the performance and profitability of a corrugated packaging facility. You will lead safety, quality, cost, and productivity while driving strategic expansion through local and regional sales.

Build a high‑performing team, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and partner with commercial, logistics, and other business units to grow opportunity, optimize operations, and better serve customers across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of progressive management experience in a corrugated packaging facility, with at least 5 years in operations/production management.
• Proven budget and financial management experience.
• Proven track record of leading diverse teams through transformative change.
• Ability to initiate projects, anticipate problems, and drive profitability.
• Capital management and financial data analysis knowledge.
• Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
• Customer-focused and able to adapt communication styles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the plant’s profitability and ensure safety and quality requirements are met.
• Develop and implement business plans aligned with company goals and strategic vision.
• Build a high-performing team and drive change initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement aligned with strategic direction.
• Build partnerships with commercial/sales to identify growth opportunities and manage key accounts.
• Oversee production improvements to meet divisional objectives and optimize efficiency.
• Collaborate with other units (Sales, Logistics, Production, Safety, Quality) to serve cross-unit customers.
