Job summary

Actalent, Athens, AL, seeks a Safety Specialist to develop and enforce safety programs in a high-volume facility. The role emphasizes second-shift coverage, real-time safety issue resolution, and regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ADEM.

You will lead hazard analysis, safety reporting, and incident trend analysis to drive corrective actions on the plant floor. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Safety related field and 0–2 years of relevant experience, with the ability to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline.
• 0–2 years of related safety experience.
• Ability to work night shift on 7:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. with occasional Saturday nights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce safety programs and protocols for a high-volume facility.
• Advise production teams on safety standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform hazard analyses and recommend mitigation measures.
• Track safety data, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Conduct regular inspections and address unsafe conditions.
• Respond to emergencies involving hazardous materials or incidents.
• Analyze incident trends and implement corrective measures.
• Prepare safety reports and support supervisors with documentation.
• Promote PPE use and ensure proper gear on the plant floor.
