Job summary

ADP is seeking a Shop Supervisor to oversee daily shop floor operations on site in Grand Rapids, driving production efficiency, ensuring quality, and upholding safety standards. You will lead a team of operators, technicians and laborers and coordinate with other departments to meet production goals and customer expectations.

The role emphasizes planning, 5S, equipment maintenance oversight, and performance reporting to improve uptime and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in CNC/manufacturing/shop floor with 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of shop floor processes, machinery, and equipment.
• Proven leadership in fast-paced environments; cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to read blueprints, production orders, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; can work under pressure.
• Experience with production management software or scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate the shop floor team to ensure optimal performance and morale.
• Plan and schedule daily production activities for efficient flow of materials, equipment, and personnel.
• Ensure products and processes meet established quality standards; oversee inspections and corrective actions.
• Enforce safety policies and promote a culture of safety across the plant.
• Drive 5S activities to improve uptime and optimize working environment.
• Ensure equipment is in good condition and address maintenance promptly to minimize downtime.
• Provide training on shop floor procedures, safety protocols, and machinery operation.
• Oversee material handling, inventory control, and ensure supplies meet production demands.
• Track production output, efficiency, and quality; report to management on key metrics.
• Identify production delays or quality issues and implement timely solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste.
