Job summary

Westlake Chemical seeks a Plant Controlling Sr. Accountant responsible for all plant accounting functions, including P&L, balance sheet and inventory costing, to support continuous improvement and business strategy.

You will interface daily with Operations Managers and production staff and collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Supply Chain & Logistics and IT teams. Key duties include month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting for multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or industry.
• CPA, CMA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Cost accounting experience a plus and manufacturing environment experience highly valued.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with SAP and BPC accounting systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own plant P&L, balance sheet, and inventory costing for assigned location.
• Lead month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Perform variance analysis and prepare management reporting for multiple plants.
• Coordinate with Operations, Corporate Accounting, Supply Chain and IT teams to implement policy and process improvements.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects across the plant network.
