Job summary

Permian Basin Materials is seeking a maintenance technician to perform installation, maintenance and repair of aggregate crushing plants and ready-mix concrete batch plants. You will maximize plant availability through proactive maintenance and progressively handle more responsibilities as you advance in the job grade.

The role involves diagnosing problems, using diagnostic equipment, and performing routine preventive maintenance on heavy production equipment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Training from an accredited technical school preferred.
Completion of an approved apprentice program and journeyman certification preferred.
Apprentice – less than 2 years of experience; capable of preventive maintenance and repairs.
Mechanic I – 2 years of experience with 1–3 relevant certifications; minor repairs.
Mechanic II – 2–5 years of experience with 4+ certifications; capable of major repairs.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems and perform mechanical repair and maintenance on stationary and mobile production machinery.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using diagnostic equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance such as lubrication and failure analysis.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and its components.
Operate and inspect plant equipment to diagnose defects.
Schedule maintenance for plant equipment and keep service records.
