Job summary

3M is seeking a Plant Engineering Supervisor in Nevada, MO. You will lead maintenance and engineering teams to ensure safe plant operations, drive asset management initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve efficiency and productivity.

The role requires supervisory experience and a strong background in plant maintenance or manufacturing, with a focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Relocation may be offered and travel up to 5% domestically.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with 6 years of plant maintenance/manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Associate’s degree with 8 years of plant maintenance/manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership.
  • Implementing and ensuring use of a Reliability Framework and Asset Management System to drive improvements in safety and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with cross functional partners to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Leading and directing Plant Engineering supervisors and reports to drive continuous improvement in plant performance and productivity.
  • Determining capital requirements necessary for the Nevada plant to meet customer requirements.
  • Supporting and leading the maintenance team to meet plant and business objectives.
  • Promoting Plant Engineering Human Capital Strategies that deliver recruiting, development and retention goals.

  • Creating and maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership. Assuring compliance with company policies, government and regulatory agency laws, regulations, and codes.
  • Implementing and ensuring use of a Reliability Framework and Asset Management System to drive continual improvements in safety, employee engagement and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with cross functional partners such as engineering, quality, supply chain, EHS, human resources and operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
  • Leading and providing direction of Plant Engineering supervisors, and other direct reports to drive continuous improvement in plant performance and productivity.
  • Implementing strategic direction on all facilities and maintenance activities for the Nevada plant.
  • Determining capital requirements necessary for the plant to maintain its ability to meet customer requirements.
  • Supporting, managing and leading the maintenance team to meet overall plant and business objectives.
  • Promoting 3M’s Plant Engineering Human Capital Strategies that deliver operational goals for recruiting, development, retention and ultimately the technical capabilities of our workforce.
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and Six (6) years of plant maintenance and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • Associate’s degree in an Industrial Maintenance-related technical field and Eight (8) years of plant maintenance and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
AND
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
