Job summary

Axalta in Mt. Clemens, MI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead all engineering functions at the Mt. Clemens plant. You will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations while driving capital project execution and continuous improvement.

You will lead a multi-discipline team, partner with Operations, Maintenance, EH&S, and Quality to deliver site objectives, maintain regulatory compliance, and improve asset reliability. This role requires strong leadership and manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive engineering experience with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in chemical or manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to lead teams and influence across functions.
• Strong experience with PSM/PHA, capital project execution, and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team across disciplines.
• Provide engineering leadership to ensure safe, stable plant operations.
• Drive reliability, uptime, and process capability improvements.
• Oversee capital projects from concept to commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, EH&S, Quality.
