Job summary

Ardagh Group is seeking a Plant Engineering Manager to lead and direct all maintenance and engineering functions at the plant site in Henderson, NC. The role requires coordinating modifications, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring environmental compliance across the facility.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, and strong planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing with exposure and knowledge of environmental compliance.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Effective planning and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Direct the engineering function and maintenance activities including implementing and monitoring PM programs and developing capital projects for continuous improvement of plant facilities.
• Coordinate all modifications, additions, and repair projects in the plant including those performed by outside contractors and corporate staff.
• Supervise and direct the scheduling of hourly and salaried personnel assigned to maintenance and labor functions including skilled journeyman performing mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Direct environmental activities related to air, water, hazardous and solid waste, and ensure compliance with governmental agencies.
• Assist in establishing a safe and healthy environment throughout the facilities, striving for zero accidents and regulatory compliance.
• Establish and assist with training for apprentice safety and journeyman updates as necessary.
• Perform administrative activities for effective department management including relationships with plant employees, the union, other departments, and corporate.
