Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Entry Engineer to support the Energy Supply Power Generation team in Sioux Falls, SD. The role focuses on mechanical systems, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and budgetary planning for site assets, with close collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, Environmental and Projects to keep power plants safe and reliable.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) and 0+ years of experience; EIT/FE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum.
• Engineering disciplines include Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or Civil. Mechanical preferred.
• Preferred EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering).

Responsibilities

• Uses technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform limited-scope activities.
• Supports development of technical documentation and procedures.
• Provides technical support for project activities in Operations, Maintenance, Testing/diagnostics, Regulatory, etc.
• Coordinates or leads projects or portions of projects under supervision.
• Assists with bid/evaluation by performing basic analyses and communicating with other business areas.
