Job summary

Xcel Energy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is seeking engineers at entry, staff, and senior levels to support the reliable operation of generation assets. The role involves collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Environmental and Projects teams to ensure safe, efficient plant performance.

Positions require BS in engineering (ABET-accredited). Travel to regional plants is expected; remote work is possible occasionally but not regularly scheduled.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum; Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
• 0+ years relevant engineering experience; ability to demonstrate core competencies.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to perform limited-scope activities.
• Develops technical documentation and assists with procedures.
• Provides technical support for projects across Operations, Maintenance, Testing/Diagnostics, Regulatory, etc.
• Coordinates projects or portions of projects under supervision.
• Assists with bid/evaluation processes and communicates with internal teams.
• Communicates information across organization and with external partners.
• May guide interns and junior staff; pursues continuous self-development.
• May assist with budgeting, forecasting, and work order management.
