Job summary

Piping Rock Health Products, a Washington-based manufacturing team, seeks a detail-oriented Plant Engineer to enhance operational efficiency and equipment reliability. This hands-on role partners with the VP of Engineering and plant leadership to drive improvements in a dynamic production environment.

Ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree with up to 4 years of related experience, AutoCAD capability, and manufacturing maintenance experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Ability to make AutoCAD drawings.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor all plant equipment (HVAC, boilers, compressors) for reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Plant Manager and supervisors to ensure smooth operation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to set up procedures for site equipment.
  • Ensure PM work orders are complete and up to date.
  • Identify improvements to plant processes and implement optimization measures.
  • Train personnel on safety, QC procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Review project plans to meet timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, and SOP regulations and EHS requirements.
  • Drive uptime improvements and manage machine downtime initiatives.
  • Develop operational plans for renovations, maintenance, or new machinery installation.
