Job summary

CF Industries invites a current college student in Mechanical Engineering to join our team in Iowa for a summer internship or 7-8 month co-op. You will serve as a technical resource, lead repairs and installations of plant equipment, and work with multidisciplinary teams to gather information and present recommendations.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student enrolled in an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering program.
• Previous co-op or intern experience is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to make verbal and written presentations to communicate ideas effectively.
• Expected to effectively communicate with outside vendors and contractors.
• Become knowledgeable in the plant processes, plant specifications, and materials of construction.
• Commitment to fulfil a summer internship or 7-8 month co-op assignment.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a technical resource and project lead for repairs and installation of plant equipment, including piping systems, valves, pumps, compressors, and turbines.
• Manages projects to completion, working with multidisciplinary teams, gathering technical information, performing engineering calculations, and presenting project results and recommendations.
• Develops, reviews & updates site maintenance and mechanical integrity procedures to improve plant reliability and process safety.
• Conducts mechanical failure analyses & reports on findings to avoid recurrence.
• Assists Plant Engineers with day-to-day tasks.
