Job summary

O-I is seeking a Plant Engineer to oversee maintenance of production equipment, furnaces, electrical systems, buildings and grounds. The role ensures environmental and safety compliance while driving continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Responsibilities include inspecting plant systems, scheduling preventive maintenance, supervising craft training, and supporting energy savings and apprenticeship programs to improve performance and uptime.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in a maintenance or engineering management position in a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the plant's production equipment, furnaces, electrical systems, buildings and grounds.
• Ensure preventive maintenance is followed to maximize plant uptime.
• Supervise training of personnel across electrical, hydraulic and mechanical crafts.
• Support job-change initiatives to improve performance and lean processes.
• Champion energy savings initiatives and oversee the apprenticeship program.
