Job summary

OneSource Professional Search is seeking a Plant Engineer to support engineering, maintenance, reliability, and capital project activities at a Mississippi refinery. This newly created role offers the opportunity to develop broad plant engineering experience and grow into future technical and leadership responsibilities.

The position requires 3–6 years of engineering experience in a refinery or similar industrial setting, with strong mechanical troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 3–6 years of engineering experience in a refinery, chemical/petrochemical plant, pulp and paper mill, or similar industrial facility.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting, project engineering, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in an operating plant environment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering and troubleshooting support for refinery Operations and Maintenance.
• Identify and implement solutions to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Develop scopes of work, specifications, cost estimates, bid packages, and construction documentation.
• Manage small- to mid-sized capital and maintenance projects, generally under $1MM.
• Provide equipment repair, replacement, and materials/metallurgy recommendations.
• Participate in root cause analysis, fitness-for-service evaluations, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Support plant shutdowns and turnarounds, including contractor and project coordination.
• Serve as a technical resource for Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
