Qualifications

  • 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience managing capital projects and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of industrial utility systems and facility operations.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects from concept development through installation, startup, and project closeout.
  • Manage facility and infrastructure improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Drive reliability programs for critical utility systems, including boilers, compressed air, HVAC, chilled water, water treatment, wastewater, and process gases.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and contractor management plans.
  • Coordinate plant shutdowns and major maintenance events supporting capital improvements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support facility expansions and equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain engineering drawings, technical documentation, and long-term capital planning roadmaps.
  • Ensure projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability, and equipment reliability across the facility.

Job Details

We're seeking a Plant Engineer to lead facility infrastructure, utility reliability, and capital improvement projects at our manufacturing site. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who enjoys driving long-term strategic initiatives, managing complex projects, and improving plant systems that support operational excellence.

You will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Leadership teams to execute projects that improve reliability, increase efficiency, and position the facility for future growth.

What You'll Do
  • Lead capital projects from concept development through installation, startup, and project closeout
  • Manage facility and infrastructure improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational performance
  • Drive reliability programs for critical utility systems, including:
    • Boilers
    • Compressed air systems
    • HVAC
    • Chilled water and glycol systems
    • Water treatment systems
    • Wastewater operations
    • Process gases and supporting utilities
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and contractor management plans
  • Coordinate plant shutdowns and major maintenance events supporting capital improvements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support facility expansions and equipment upgrades

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proven experience managing capital projects and infrastructure upgrades
  • Strong understanding of industrial utility systems and facility operations
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food, beverage, dairy, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of sanitation, process utilities, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience working with CMMS platforms and asset management systems
  • Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance methodologies
  • PMP certification, PE license, or other engineering certifications are a plus
