The Plant Engineer will serve as a hands‑on, field-oriented engineer responsible for improving the reliability, performance, capacity, and compliant operation of manufacturing equipment, building systems, and supporting plant infrastructure within a sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role will investigate recurring technical problems, implement sustainable engineering solutions, improve process performance and yields, eliminate equipment and operational constraints, and execute engineering and site‑improvement projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong hands‑on troubleshooting capabilities, full proficiency in AutoCAD and P&IDs, and the ability to translate field observations and performance data into practical, measurable improvements.

This position’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Conduct hands‑on field investigations, equipment inspections, technical measurements, testing, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve recurring equipment, facility, and operational problems.
  • Determine the root causes of equipment failures, process‑related defects, downtime, and performance losses, and implement sustainable corrective and reliability improvements.
  • Improve plant performance and manufacturing yields by reducing process variability, defects, scrap, rework, recurring failures, and other operational losses.
  • Identify and eliminate manufacturing and packaging constraints involving line stoppages, cycle times, material flow, equipment capacity, layouts, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Develop engineering designs, equipment and facility layouts, specifications, P&IDs, schematics, redlines, and as‑built drawings using AutoCAD, including field verification of existing conditions.
  • Execute engineering and site‑improvement projects from field assessment and scope development through design, vendor coordination, installation, testing, startup, commissioning, qualification support, and operational turnover.
  • Support change controls, deviations, CAPAs, risk assessments, and other cGMP documentation while coordinating technical activities with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, and other site functions.
We Are Looking For Applicants With

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant plant, manufacturing, process, facilities, or reliability engineering experience, preferably within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting sterile, aseptic, or other cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience troubleshooting equipment and plant systems and supporting equipment modifications, installation, testing, startup, or commissioning activities.
  • Full proficiency in AutoCAD and in reading, creating, revising, and field‑verifying P&IDs, equipment layouts, utility drawings, schematics, redlines, and as‑built documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience improving equipment reliability, process performance, manufacturing yields, product quality, production capacity, or operational efficiency.
  • Ability to execute engineering projects while maintaining accurate technical documentation and complying with change‑control procedures, cGMP requirements, engineering standards, and site safety requirements.
