Job description

Location: Chambersburg

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of engineering functions of intermediate scope involving planning, development, design, and installation of equipment, processes, and automation systems. Provides technical support to meet customer needs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare RFE's, obtain quotes, and estimate project costs and completion. Manage projects to budget, utilizing in-plant personnel and outside contractors for installation and completion of capital projects.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement processes for equipment reliability, including PM improvement activities, root cause analysis, downtime analysis, throughput improvement, and error proofing.
  • Enhance production efficiency through automation, support production and maintenance with troubleshooting, and identify solutions to control and automation-related problems.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, Safety, Quality Policies, HACCP, and other company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain drawings of the facility and equipment.
  • Assist the Maintenance Department with mechanical and electrical issues throughout the plant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls Engineering, or equivalent work experience, with 3-5 years in a related field.
  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, ABB), VFDs, Robotics, Motion control, process control systems, power transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, refrigeration (ammonia/Freon), welding (Arc, MIG, TIG), HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Focus on project management, safety, lean manufacturing, and automation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and technical documentation abilities.

Physical Demands:
