The candidate will lead project management tasks, coordinate with HSE/QA, and manage contractors across multiple projects while ensuring compliance and proper documentation. Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering with relevant mechanical/civil experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in plant engineering or related field.
  • Experience in a GMP environment preferred or highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of facility infrastructure, equipment, and maintenance principles.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices.
  • Experience with documentation management and paperless validation software.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and define the scope of corroded piping; identify locations and repair/replacement strategies.
  • Lead project management tasks: timelines, coordination with Project Manager, Area Owner, HSE, QA.
  • Manage and coordinate construction contractors for work across projects.
  • Act as user representative for plant engineering in infrastructure upgrades and safety projects.
  • Review Work from Heights assessments and support corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with users and post-lift vendors on material post-lift solutions; lead implementation.
  • Develop User Requirements and complete Kneat design reviews; support change controls.
  • Support C&Q activities; update engineering docs including P&IDs, ISOs, validation documents, inventories.

Job description

Length of Contract: 1 year with possible extension

Position Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Plant Engineer to enhance the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our facility's infrastructure and equipment. This role requires an independent, self-driven engineer capable of addressing plant deficiencies, managing contractors, and ensuring project execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with a preference for experience in a GMP environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and define the scope of corroded piping, requiring remediation; identify piping locations and develop effective repair or replacement strategies.
  • Lead and support project management tasks, including timeline development, adherence, and coordination with the Project Manager, Area Owner, HSE, and QA.
  • Manage and coordinate construction contractors for execution of work across various projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and safety standards.
  • Act as the user representative for plant engineering, including participation in reviews and decisions for infrastructure upgrades and safety-related projects.
  • Review assessments related to Work from Heights deficiencies per EDS-4202 and corporate engineering/HSE standards, support development and execution of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with local users and post-lift vendors to determine optimal material post-lift solutions; lead implementation, including user alignment and installation timelines.
  • Develop User Requirements and complete Design Reviews in Kneat (paperless validation software); support drafting and management of change controls.
  • Support Commissioning and Qualification (C&Q) activities; update and maintain engineering documentation, including P&IDs, ISOs, validation documents, and spare parts inventories.
Qualifications:
  • 5 + years of experience in plant engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to act independently and resolve barriers in a plant environment.
  • Proven experience in managing contractors and overseeing project execution.
  • Prior experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of facility infrastructure, equipment, and maintenance principles.
  • Ability to assess deficiencies, propose solutions, and manage their implementation.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and practices.
  • Experience with documentation management and paperless validation software
Education & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with relevant mechanical/civil experience.
