Job summary

South Jersey Bakery in New Jersey seeks a skilled Plant Electrician to support the operation and maintenance of the manufacturing facility. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, commissioning equipment, and assisting PLC troubleshooting while upholding safety standards and minimizing downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational electrical training preferred.
• Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of motors, VFDs, PLCs, electrical controls, and power distribution systems.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and industrial safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, and control systems on production equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Install, test, and commission electrical equipment, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Support PLC troubleshooting and basic programming modifications as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, electrical codes, and company policies.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability.
