Job summary

Stratas Foods in Hillside, NJ seeks an experienced electrical maintenance professional to support food safety and regulatory compliance while maintaining and upgrading plant electrical systems. Responsibilities include PLC logic modifications, device installation, and CMMS documentation.

You will troubleshoot high-voltage systems, read blueprints, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Possession of a high-pressure black seal boiler operator license is preferred.
• Technical education in trade, project planning, and management.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in reading schematics and using basic electrical measuring devices.
• Computer literacy is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of related experience in oil, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, or process manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Support plant's food safety culture and comply with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, temperature/pressure and flow devices for field indicators and sending devices to PLCs.
• Modify PLC logic for process changes and improvements.
• Read, understand, and create corrective action work orders when required.
• Utilize, respond, and document all scheduled and unscheduled work orders in the DirectLine CMMS system.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical distribution and protection circuits up to 480VAC.
• Execute work safely and promptly according to priorities.
• Perform emergency corrective maintenance daily and call-ins.
• Execute capital and maintenance projects.
• Audit preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Perform routine corrective maintenance.
• Provide practical solutions to operations problems.
• Inspect and test elements of electrical systems to locate faults.
• Perform repairs through replacement of inoperative parts or rewiring as per codes.
• If certified, operate and troubleshoot high-pressure boiler system per regulations.
• Scope, estimate and execute small capital/maintenance projects with maintenance manager/ project director/ operations.
• Analyze test results for irregularities and document them in maintenance log.
• Train other employees as needed.
• Reduce interruptions by maintaining regulated power supplies to critical computer systems and equipment.
• Oversee on-site contractor work to ensure safety and quality.
• Promote preventive maintenance as strategy for equipment upkeep.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to manufacturing equipment as needed.
