Job summary

Titan America is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Roanoke Cement Plant team in Troutville, VA. You will provide technical leadership for industrial power distribution, control systems, and plant automation to support safe, reliable operations.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, design of automation with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and power distribution up to 13.8kV, along with mentoring electricians and supporting maintenance and capital projects. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience, ideally in cement/mining/heavy manufacturing.
Proficient in Allen Bradley Studio 5000, FactoryTalk HMI, and AutoCAD Electrical.
Strong knowledge of power distribution (480V–13.8kV), VFDs, servo systems, and electrical safety.
Experience troubleshooting control systems and implementing automation solutions.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced plant environment.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Experience supervising or mentoring electrical teams is a plus.
Electrical certifications or NFPA 70E training is a plus.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues across the plant, including medium voltage, motors, drives, and panels.
Design and optimize control systems using Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and motion control.
Develop and maintain electrical schematics and panel layouts with AutoCAD Electrical.
Lead or support electrical upgrade projects and system integrations.
Support outages with planning, execution, and commissioning of electrical work.
Contribute to predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA and related safety standards.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations to minimize downtime.
Mentor plant electricians and technicians on operation and safety.
Support energy efficiency and process improvements.
