Job summary

Xcel Energy Services Inc is seeking a senior plant leader to supervise and optimize safety, reliability and performance for a 600–1500 MW facility. The role covers responsible management of budgets, maintenance practices, and environmental compliance, while ensuring excellent customer interfaces and financial outcomes.

The position requires a proven leadership track record, experience in power generation, and the ability to guide a trained workforce through complex operations and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Ten years' experience in power generation with leadership experience.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and proven results.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe working environment by establishing infrastructure, processes, training and records.
• Ensure unit reliability to deliver production and ancillary services.
• Ensure customer interfaces are managed effectively and align with business goals.
• Accountable for plant financial performance and budget adherence.
• Establish and manage O&M and capital budgets to optimize costs.
• Manage inventory and contracts to minimize overall costs.
• Develop a trained, qualified and engaged workforce.
• Provide opportunities for employee development, recognition and involvement.
• Ensure compliance with hiring, promotion, training and development practices.
• Comply with labor agreements and AA/EEO policies.
• Maximize value and profitability of plant assets.
• Support long-term plant improvement and investment plans.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
• Represent company interests with suppliers, contractors and public audiences.
