Job summary

Prysmian Group in McKinney, Texas is hiring a Plant Custodian to perform a broad range of cleaning and custodial tasks. The role supports the Plant Manager and ensures clean, safe facilities across production floors and restrooms.

The position requires basic English, attention to detail, and physical endurance for long shifts. Starting pay is $16 per hour with a $1 shift differential; evening shifts are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
• Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
• Ability to read and write the English language.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties while adhering to approved department procedures and standards.
• Performs routine sanitation, sweeping, and waste disposal across production floors.
• Maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and physical safety of manufacturing areas, warehouses, and restrooms.
• Keeps plant buildings and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
• Cleans windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Maintains custodial equipment and supplies, performs preventative maintenance, and maintains cleaning chemicals and consumable inventory.
• May train others and perform related work as assigned.

Duties include dusting and polishing furniture, emptying trash, sweeping, cleaning surfaces and inspecting cleanliness of buildings.**Essential Job Functions** * Performs cleaning duties while adhering to approved department procedures and standards.* Performs routine sanitation, sweeping, and waste disposal across production floors.* Maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and physical safety of manufacturing areas, warehouses, and restrooms.* Keeps plant buildings and property in clean and orderly condition.* Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.* Cleans windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.* Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.* Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.* Maintains custodial equipment and supplies, performs preventative maintenance, and maintains cleaning chemicals and consumable inventory.* May train others and perform related work as assigned.**Qualifications** * High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate.* Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions preferred.* Ability to read and write the English language.* Strong attention to detail.* Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.* Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
