Job summary

Prysmian Encore Wire in McKinney, TX is seeking an Electrician to maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will apply knowledge to diagnose malfunctions and restore operation on the plant floor.

The role offers a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, with starting pay of $30-$38 per hour plus a $2 per hour night diff. The ideal candidate has a 2-year technical degree or apprenticeship and 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Position Overview

The electrician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Plant operations.

Starting Pay

$30 - $38/hr base pay+ $2/hr night shift differential.

Schedule

Night shift (7 PM – 7 AM), rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

Rotation

Work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days; then reverse the following week.

Essential Job Functions

• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
• Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
• Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
• Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required.
• 3-5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas
• A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
• Exposed to high voltage electricity.
• Ability to push, pull, or lift heavy objects and/or machine parts with or without assistance.
