King & Prince Seafood is seeking a Cost Accountant to analyze and optimize production costs at the plant level in our Brunswick, GA office. You will track material, labor, and overhead costs, support standard costing, and assist with monthly close and inventory valuation.

Collaborate with plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze variances, and ensure strong internal controls and accurate reporting.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
• 3-4 years of cost accounting or operations finance experience in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and standard costing methodologies.

Aufgaben

• Prepare pro forma and standard costs for new and existing products based on customer and company specifications, in accordance with guidelines established by the Finance Manager - Operations and CFO.
• Maintain and update standard cost components, including raw materials, labor, and overhead; obtain approvals for changes and reflect in the ERP system.
• Analyze historical cost performance and recommend standard cost updates or corrections.
• Perform detailed cost analyses and ad hoc reporting to support management decisions, with clear explanations of variances from standard.
• Review production work orders for accuracy and material variances; coordinate corrections and close work orders timely.
• Support monthly closing activities by preparing inventory and production reconciliations and assist with related journal entries for cost variance reporting.
• Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to manufacturing costs and variances for plant operations.
• Assist with maintaining perpetual inventory records and ensure cycle count procedures.
• Collaborate with plant operations, supply chain, and finance to ensure accurate costing and reporting, driving continuous process improvement.
• Performs additional duties and supports special projects as needed.
