Job summary

Smithfield Fresh Meats Corp is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to support our production facility in Denison, TX. You will oversee cost accounting, inventory control, payroll, and reporting, ensuring SOX and GAAP compliance and accurate ledgers.

Lead a small accounting team, partner with operations, and drive process improvements. Travel up to 10% is required; SAP and advanced Excel skills are essential in this fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 5+ years of accounting experience.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Accounting software, inventories, and Microsoft Office; advanced Excel.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting concepts; SAP experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills; willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Participate in plant management and product review meetings; assist in material preparation for meetings.
• Ensure asset protection, reconcile inventory balances, and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Administer BOMs, analyze variances, and report monthly to corporate on slow-moving inventory.
• Supervise the plant accounting team including hiring, training, and performance appraisal.
