Job summary

Snap-on Tools seeks a Plant Controller for its Elkmont, Alabama Manufacturing Plant. This on-site role reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance at another location.

You will direct all accounting activities, maintain internal controls, and develop budgets and forecasts to support plant performance. The position requires a Bachelor's in Accounting with 5+ years in manufacturing cost accounting, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of practical experience in a manufacturing operation, focused on cost accounting.
• Solid knowledge of general accounting, cost accounting, purchasing, and payroll policies.

Responsibilities

• Direct and validate all accounting activities including labor distribution, inventories, general receipts, scrap, rework, accounts payable, closed order variances, fixed assets transactions and journal entries.
• Identify and resolve reporting discrepancies and concerns involving personnel or system processing or plant policies and procedures.
• Analyze monthly plant financial results and initiate cost reduction recommendations; explain variances and corrective actions.
• Review and approve capital expenditure requests and ensure accuracy of assumptions.
• Provide weekly financial flashes and manage the quarterly rolling forecast and annual budgets.
• Manage cycle count programs for all inventory including finished goods and set product cost standards.
