The role partners with plant management to monitor KPIs, manage budgeting and forecasts, analyze variances in production costs, and drive cost optimization while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and local accounting standards. English fluency required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Financial Controlling or a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong analytical, financial management and problem solving capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VBA) and PowerPoint.
  • Strong decision making, including business case preparation and strategic coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial controlling activities across plant functions with alignment to corporate objectives.
  • Partner with Plant Management to monitor KPIs, budgets and operational performance.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Analyze production variances, including material and labor costs, and identify root causes for improvements.
  • Monitor plant expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Support accounting activities, including depreciation, provisions and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and local accounting requirements.
  • Assist year-end audit preparation and interact with stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate finance activities and collaborate with cross-functional plant teams.

Job description

We are supporting a leading global company in the automotive manufacturing sector in the search for an experienced Plant Controller for its operations in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

This is a key finance leadership position within the plant, combining financial controlling, manufacturing cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting and close partnership with plant management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial controlling activities across plant functions, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Partner closely with Plant Management to monitor KPIs, budgets and operational performance.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Analyze production variances, including material and labor costs, identifying root causes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor plant expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Financial Controlling or a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong analytical, financial management and problem solving capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VBA Macros, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong decision making skills, including experience in business case preparation and strategic coordination.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across different plant functions.
Additional Qualifications Considered a Plus
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • International experience within Finance.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Experience working with external auditors.
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks and Internal Audit activities.
  • Proficiency in OneStream and other Business Intelligence tools.
