J.M. Huber Corporation seeks a Finance leader to act as a business partner with plant and financial management in Quincy, FL. This site-based role may be based out of Atlanta HQ with monthly travel to Quincy, FL.

You will lead the accounting function, manage budgeting and forecasting, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive cost controls, reporting, and capital project analysis across assigned divisions. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business admin is required.
• MBA or CPA preferred but not required.
• 5+ years in mining/manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and coaching ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, esp. Excel.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% (domestic).

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Function as a business partner with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control divisions assigned. Lead the accounting function at the plant and/or related facilities and be accountable for plant level responsibilities including general accounting, cost accounting, business analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, monthly forecasting and capital project financial analysis. Will also liaison with corporate financial staff regularly.

This role is site-based and located in Quincy, FL, or can be based out of Atlanta HQ, with monthly travel to Quincy, FL.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for internal controls at the plant and related facilities for operations, sales, finance and accounting


• Submit all financial transactions and reporting for a timely month-end close and ensure accurate reporting under GAAP


• Ensure the accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results; investigate and explain physical adjustments; review and write off obsolete inventory as needed


• Responsible for preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecast of plant’s financial operations


• Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly reports of results as required or requested, to be completed accurately and in accordance with corporate format and due date


• Assist in the preparation of capital expenditure financial analysis to ensure accuracy of cost data


• Manage fixed assets; perform periodic audits; maintain depreciation schedules


• Coordinate and lead monthly plant review meetings to ensure all stakeholders understand monthly operational financial performance


• Perform periodic walkthroughs of the plant with the Operations and/or Plant Manager to discuss production and cost issues


• Analyze reports for labor and material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, quality control and inventory levels


• Assist with year-end audit and other audits as required


• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly and make required adjustments


• Understand and document multiple business and accounting systems, reporting conventions and other systems


• Set SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Aligned/Agreed, Relevant, Timely); perform/document monthly coaching against goals, conduct performance reviews including identifying and communicating development needs for all direct reports and/or matrix reports.


• Follow and adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position/department and as required by ISO


• All other duties and projects as assigned

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration


• MBA or CPA is preferred but not required


• 5 + years of relevant experience in a mining/manufacturing environment


• Ability to work independently


• Ability to lead/motivate staff effectively to achieve goals and provide coaching intended to develop them to their fullest potential


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Navigate and understand the organization to effectively convey ideas and concepts


• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel


• Ability to travel (domestic) independently with a valid driver’s license; Up to 30% travel
