Job summary

JBS USA is seeking an experienced Plant Controller for our Plainwell, Michigan facility. You will oversee all plant accounting and purchasing, acting as a strategic partner to operations leadership to drive profitability and internal controls.

You will lead accounting and purchasing teams, manage budgeting and forecasting, prepare monthly and annual financial reports, and ensure SOX compliance while collaborating with corporate and plant departments to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Plant Accounting and Purchasing teams.
• Manage all financial activities for the facility, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, inventory reconciliation, and variance analysis.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversee capital expenditure reporting and payback analysis.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with SOX requirements and internal controls.
• Direct purchasing activities, including inventory management, purchase order processing, vendor management, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities for improving profitability and operational performance.
• Analyze business results and provide recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with corporate and plant departments to resolve issues and achieve business objectives.

In this role, you will oversee all plant accounting and purchasing functions while serving as a key business partner to operations leadership. The Plant Controller plays a critical role in driving financial performance, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing insights that support operational excellence and profitability.

Preferred

• Manufacturing, food processing, or meat industry experience.
• Plant Controller experience.
• Experience with SAP
• Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
