Location: Oseola, AR | Onsite to start, transitioning to hybrid
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 per year, plus potential bonus
About the Opportunity
Our client, a steel manufacturing company, is seeking a Plant Controller to own the financial integrity of the plant. You will be the link between the floor and the books, making sure every pound received, processed, shipped, and scrapped is accurately captured and reported. You will partner directly with the General Manager and have real influence on plant performance, costing, and controls.
We are looking for someone who is very AI-forward: a controller who actively uses AI tools to automate reconciliations, speed up analysis, and sharpen reporting, and who is excited to bring that mindset to a plant environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage plant purchasing controls, including PO discipline, approvals, vendor setup, and three-way matching of PO, receipt, and invoice
- Manage accounts receivable: customer invoicing, cash application coordination, aging review, collections follow-up, and billing/credit discrepancies
- Own inventory accounting and reconciliation for master coils, WIP, finished slit coils, packaging materials, customer-owned material, and scrap
- Lead cycle counts and periodic physical inventories, and resolve differences between physical, ERP, and production records
- Monitor pounds received, consumed, produced, shipped, scrapped, and adjusted; maintain coil-level traceability and inventory transaction controls
- Review steel yield, trim loss, scrap recovery, material usage, freight, outside processing, and other manufacturing cost variances; support standard and actual costing
- Coordinate accurate transactions between Eniteo ERP, Rodeo MES, receiving, production, shipping, and accounting
- Support month-end close, accruals, inventory valuation, account reconciliations, and plant financial reporting
- Prepare reports on AR aging, purchasing commitments, inventory value and turns, slow-moving material, scrap, and operational variances
- Assist the GM with budgets, forecasts, capital requests, cash requirements, and financial analysis
- Maintain internal controls and documentation for corporate review and audit
What You Bring
Required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close; you must be able to handle both the soft and hard close
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Experience in manufacturing, metals, distribution, or another inventory-intensive operation
- Strong ERP skills, with the ability to follow a transaction flow across multiple systems
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, management reporting)
- A genuine AI-forward mindset and hands-on comfort with AI tools in your work
Preferred
- CMA, CPA, or MBA
- Steel industry experience
- Experience with Eniteo ERP (a gold star)
- Familiarity with an MES such as Rodeo
What’s Offered
- $120K–$140K base salary plus potential bonus
- 401(k) with 3% company match
- Unlimited PTO and paid holidays
- Generous benefits package
- Onsite to start, with a path to hybrid
- Direct visibility with the GM and a hands-on role shaping plant financial operations
