Job summary

Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation in Maxton, NC is seeking a Plant Controller to drive financial integrity across manufacturing operations. You will manage cost centers, lead monthly closes, and partner with operations to improve performance on the plant floor.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, 5+ years of cost accounting in manufacturing, GAAP expertise, ERP experience, and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Five or more years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• ERP system experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Run plant accounting and cost accounting processes across multiple cost centers.
• Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial accuracy.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operating plans.
• Maintain standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Review labor, materials, overhead, distribution, and inventory variances.
• Participate in production and operations meetings.
• Support internal controls, audit readiness, and asset protection.
• Partner with operations to improve manufacturing performance.
• Supervise front office administrative and accounting activities.

What You Will Do
