Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a Plant Controller for its Maxton, NC facility. This role manages cost centers, oversees the monthly close, BOMs, inventory, and internal controls while partnering with operations to improve manufacturing performance.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least five years in cost accounting within manufacturing, with ERP/MRP and advanced Excel skills. On-site role with strong cross-functional collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• ERP/MRP systems experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Run plant accounting and cost accounting processes across multiple cost centers.
• Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial accuracy.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operating plans.
• Maintain standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Review labor, materials, overhead, distribution, and inventory variances.
• Participate in production and operations meetings.
• Support internal controls, audit readiness, and asset protection.
• Partner with operations to improve manufacturing performance.
• Supervise front office administrative and accounting activities.
