Location: Harrison Twp, MI

Pay: $110,000 - $130,000 (flexibility)

Shift: 1st, 8am-5pm

Position Summary:

Seeking a Plant Controller to ensure the plant's financial operations follow GAAP and internal controls (including SOX and company standards). Help improve profitability and protect assets by evaluating financial risks and opportunities. Lead budgeting and forecasting activities and support the Plant Manager with overall plant governance.

Position Responsibilities:

• Capital Management:
• Plan and monitor capital spending to align with company goals. Ensure assets are accurately recorded, monitored, and accounted for. Work with other departments to support asset planning and reporting.
• Inventory Control:
• Make sure inventory is properly tracked and reported according to accounting standards. Supervise inventory counts and adjust records as needed with Supply Chain.
• Manage the plant’s monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings. Ensure accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting.
• Performance Analysis:
• Analyze financial results (Sales to EBIT), compare with budget and forecast, and report findings to management. Prepare clear and timely performance reports.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Lead plant budget and forecast planning. Coordinate with teams across departments (e.g., Procurement, Commercial, Engineering) to confirm key assumptions.
• Audit & Compliance:
• Support internal, SOX, and external audits. Maintain proper documentation and follow standard accounting and control practices.
• Other Duties:
• Provide financial information as needed and support corporate teams (e.g., Legal, Tax, HR) with special requests.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required
• Automotive industry experience is required
• 3–5 years of experience as a Plant Controller in an automotive manufacturing environment (midsize plant experience preferred)
• Forecasting experience is highly desired
• Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated cost savings initiatives or process improvement leadership
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards (experience with any or all is beneficial)
• Familiarity with Power BI
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modeling
• Must be comfortable managing cash flow-related tasks
• Hands-on and adaptable work style required
